Uttarakhand Police has introduced special traffic management arrangements for Kainchi Dham, Mussoorie, Dehradun and Rishikesh to manage the expected tourist and pilgrim rush during the extended Dussehra weekend. The measures include route diversions, designated parking areas and alternative travel routes to reduce congestion.
DON'T MISS
The traffic plan for Dehradun, Mussoorie and Rishikesh is scheduled to remain in effect from October 17 to 19, 2026. Separately, traffic restrictions have been announced for Kainchi Dham on October 17 and 18.
Kainchi Dham Traffic Restrictions and Parking Arrangements
Authorities have issued a special traffic and diversion plan for Kainchi Dham, anticipating a rise in devotees visiting the Neem Karoli Baba temple.
According to the reported advisory, private vehicles will not be permitted to enter the temple area directly. Heavy vehicles will also face movement restrictions from 3 am to 11 pm on October 17 and 18.
Parking arrangements have been designated for visitors arriving from different directions. Those coming from Bhimtal can park at the Bhimtal Development Building parking area and use shuttle services to reach the temple. Visitors arriving from the Gethia and Nainital sides can use the Bhawali Sanatorium parking area.
