Iran Protest Turns Ugly: 36 Killed, Is Exiled Prince Inspiring Masses, Has Khamenei Secretly Escaped the Storm?

Iran Protest: Nationwide protests against the ruling government have resulted in the death of at least 36 people in Iran.

Iran Protest: Reza Pahlavi, the exiled Crown Prince of Iran, has issued the first call of action to his people to overthrow the Ayatollah Khomeini government.

More and more Iranians are joining the nationwide protests against the ruling government against growing inflation, corruption and poor state policies.

What is the Latest on Iran Protest?

At least 36 protesters have been killed since the Iran protests started, including 5 minors.

On December 28, the protest wave started with a shutdown by Iranian merchants that has since spread to other parts of the Islamic Republic.

Social media footage revealed demonstrators chanting slogans such as “Throw out Mullahs”, “Pahlavi will return”, and “Seyyed Ali will be overthrown.”

Has Ali Khamenei Fled The Country?

Ayatollah Khomeini is likely to flee Tehran to Moscow with family and close aides if his security forces get overwhelmed by protestors. On January 3, Khamenei appeared publicly amid protests and vowing not to yield.  Khamenei is likely to flee to Russia just like Bashar al-Assad of Syria who fled to Putin’s country after his regime fell in December 2024.

Possible US intervention in Iran?

It is speculated that the United States and Israel are contemplating the idea of a joint attack on Iran. The indication gained strength after Mossad, the spy agency of Israel, shared a message of support publicly to Iranian protestors on X.

In a post on Truth, Donald Trump hinted a possible intervention where he warned Ayatollah Khamenei and Iranian authorities of severe consequences if they took action against protestors.
