Thalapathy Vijay: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Supremo “Thalapathy” Joseph Vijay met Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Arlekar to stake his claim to form the state government in Tamil Nadu.
Earlier in the day, five MLAs of the Rahul Gandhi led Indian National Congress (TMC) extended their support to Vijay’s party.
Thalapathy Vijay-TVK’s Historic Win
TVK won 108 seats in a historic first but somehow could not manage to reach the magical figure of 118 seats. Vijay then requested INC and other parties for support.
In a surprising turn of events, Congress dumped its long-time ally DMK led by M Stalin and decided to extend its support to TVK.
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai termed the INC as a “backstabber” and added that the 5 seats that the INC got were only because of the DMK.
According to media reports, Congress has demanded two cabinet berths along with important roles like the chairmanships of corporations and boards.
