Virat Kohli: Former RCB and South African batsman AB De Villiers was furious on Wednesday. He defended Kohli’s strike rate and went on a rant against all the data-driven experts and pundits.

Everyone knows the special bond that Kohli and De Villiers share. Both of them are very good friends. ABD was even one of the few persons who knew about Kohli’s second kid before birth.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, ABD came to defend his former teammate and slammed every critic. He even said that data-driven pundits rarely have any knowledge about the real game and how it works.

‘I Am Fed Up’

Speaking on YouTube channel, De Villiers stated “Virat Kohli, catching criticism about his strike rate. It’s been going on for way too long and I am sort of fed up with that now. I’m frustrated, to say the least. This guy is one of the best players to ever play the game of cricket.”

“He’s incredible in the IPL, he plays a certain role for RCB, and I’ve pretty much had enough of data-driven pundits who keep criticizing this man. When you don’t really have knowledge of the game. How many games of cricket have you played, how many IPL hundreds have you scored?”

Virat Kohli Slams Critics

It was not only De Villiers but Kohli himself who slammed all the critics after their victory over Hyderabad in IPL 2024. Kohli was in a joyous mood and had scored a brilliant half-century and led his team to victory alongside Will Jacks.

In the post-match interview, Kohli stated “All the people who talk about strike rates and me not playing spin well are the ones talking about this stuff. For me, it’s about winning the games for the team, and there’s a reason why I’ve done it for 15 years.”
