One of the run-outs has shocked everyone. It was a direct hit from the boundary line and the wicket completely stopped the momentum that the Netherlands had. One of the best moments of the World Cup.

A Superhuman Throw

The incident happened in the 12th over when Max O’Dowd was playing on a decent tone. He was setting a good partnership with Colin Ackerman and the Men In Orange were looking at a decent total.

A ball on the middle stump was paddle swept by Dowd towards fine leg and both batsmen demanded 2 runs. They were running fast but Max started struggling in the middle of it. Till Azmatullah Omarzai had thrown the ball.

Max did dive but not quickly enough to beat the rocket throw from Omarzai. It was a direct throw and the umpire quickly called for the third umpire. The replay showed that Max was a couple of inches short and had to go.

Marching Towards Knock-Outs
