Asian Games 2023: India Starts High With 5 Medals On The First Day; Read Here

As Asian Games 2023 kicks off, Indian athletes made sure to start on high and clinched 5 medals during the first few hours of the first day only. Medals in shooting and rowing event has made sure India starts with a bang.

Asian Games 2023: It is a high start for the Indian contingent as our athletes have already bagged 5 medals on the first day itself. And let us add the point that, even the first day is not yet completed.

It is a medal rush for the Blues as India has bagged 3 silvers and 3 bronze medals already. It is a promising start to this year’s Asiad Games which will also serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympics

On the other hand, the Indian women’s cricket team has also confirmed at least a silver medal as they qualified for the finals. The cricket team thrashed Bangladesh’s team in the semi-finals and completed their revenge as well.

First Medal Of Asian Games 2023

Ramita Jindal, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ashi Chouksey won the first medal for the Indian contingent in this year’s Asiad games. A silver in the Women’s 10m air rifle team event. Ramita also clinched an individual bronze in the 10m air rifle event.

It was an impressive start to the campaign as the trio earned a combined score of 1,886.0. While Ramita had a score of 230.1 in her solo event where she had to compete against eight shooters in the finals.

Indian Rowers Bags Silver

Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh won the second silver medal for India despite Arvind suffering from a back injury for the past two months. Considering the fact that Arvind was not able to train properly for two months, this is a huge achievement.

Babu Lal Yadav and Lekh Ram won the second medal in rowing after they clinched the bronze medal in the men’s pair final. With an impressive time of 6:50.41s. While the silver medalist duo clocked the timing of 6:28.18s.
