Aussie legend Steve Smith shares adorable message for wife on Valentine’s Day, gets brutally trolled for THIS reason

Steve Smith, the Australian top-order batsman, has had a rough start to the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy both on and off the field. On Valentine’s Day, he expressed his anticipation of meeting his wife, Dani Willis, in a couple of days by posting a heartwarming message.

Steve Smith mentions wrong account

However, he made a colossal blunder by sharing the tweet with a wrong account after mistakenly tagging an account called D. Queen, which had the username ‘dani_willis.’ The post was automatically shared on Twitter, and Dani Willis’ Instagram handle has the same username ‘dani_willis,’ which might have caused the error.

Smith’s mistake did not go unnoticed as fans swiftly took on the opportunity and flooded Twitter with hilarious messages and tweets, mocking the batting sensation. However, since then netizens have been brutally trolling him for putting in the wrong account and that too on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.

The 33-year-old scored 62 runs in the first Test, including an unbeaten 25 in the second innings, but could not prevent the Australian batting collapse. Pursuing a 223-run target, the Australian team was bundled out for a mere 91 runs.

The Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin played a crucial role in the collapse, picking up five wickets for just 37 runs in 12 overs, dismissing the openers and the middle order. A notable aspect of Smith’s batting during the game was his gesture of giving a thumbs-up to the Indian spinners when they bowled well. This action did not sit well with the former Australian cricket stalwart Allan Border, who criticized Smith for being too soft.
