Ben Stokes: England Test Captain whines over Harsha Bhogle’s strong tweets against the English Media

Ben Stokes: A day after Harsha Bhogle published a strong Twitter thread accusing the English media of spreading “vitriol” toward Deepti Sharma, England Test captain Ben Stokes responded to the commentator with a series of tweets.

Harsha Bhogle had claimed in his thread that it might be a “culture thing” for the English to criticise a non-striker for running out because they had backed up too far. Stokes responded to this statement in his replies. Have a look at Harsha’s tweet here:

Replying to Harsha in one of his tweets, Ben Stokes said, “Harsha … bringing culture into peoples opinion over a Mankad?”

In another tweet, he wrote “Harsha .. 2019 WC final was over 2 years ago, I still till this day revive countless messages calling me all sorts from Indian fans, does this disturb you? (sic)”

“Is this a culture thing?? ….absolutely not,I receive messages regarding the overthrows from people all over world,as people all over the world have made comment’s on the Mankad dismissal, not just people who are English,” He continued whining on Harsha’s tweet.

Deepti Sharma’s run-out of Charlie Dean at the non-end striker’s sealed India’s victory in the third ODI and helped them complete their first-ever series whitewash in England, prompting Harsha Bhogle’s tweets.

Following a batting meltdown, Dean, who made a gallant 47, almost led the hosts to victory in a low-scoring chase. The Mankad incident has since then taken the cricket fraternity by storm with divided opinions.
