Few players from England’s Test team have been included in the squad selected for the limited-overs series against Australia, but the England Test captain Joe Root is not the part for T20 international series. Wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler, pacer Jofra Archer, and Mark Wood were included in the T20 squad for the series starting at the Rose Bowl from Friday.
Root and fast bowler Chris Woakes have been included in the ODI squad, the ODI team also includes the World Cup winners Buttler, Archer, and Wood. Fast bowler Sam Curran has also been named in both teams headed by Eoin Morgan.
Ben Stokes has not been included in any team. The star all-rounder went to New Zealand after his father’s illness.
Opener Jason Roy is not in the three-match T20 International series squad due to injury, but he can return to the squad for the ODI series starting on September 11.
England selector Ed Smith said, “We are trying to strengthen the team to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup.”
