Cricket Viral Video: Brendon McCullum, former captain of New Zealand's cricket team, always played the game on his own terms until his final international match. His illustrious career culminated in a fitting manner with his record-breaking 54-ball century against Australia in Christchurch on February 20th, 2016. In his last game leading the Black Caps, McCullum won the toss and chose to bat first, however this didn't land in their favour as Australian bowlers picked up three wickets with only 32 runs on the scoreboard.
Most batters in this situation would have taken time to settle, but McCullum launched a counterattack on the Australian bowlers, displaying his characteristic aggressive style. Although New Zealand lost the wicket of Kane Williamson, it did not affect McCullum's batting style as he found support from Corey Anderson.
Brendon McCullum played an extraordinary inning in his final international game, hitting a record-breaking century off just 54 balls against Australia in Christchurch on February 20, 2016. His attacking innings included 6 boundaries and 3 powerful sixes, bringing up his half-century in just 34 deliveries.
McCullum continued to pile on the runs after his fifty and before Australia could adjust to the situation, he had reached his century in just 54 balls, breaking the record for the fastest Test century previously held jointly by Viv Richards and Misbah-ul-Haq. He was eventually dismissed for 145 runs off just 79 deliveries. Despite the captain's heroics, New Zealand could only post a score of 370.
Australia replied with a mammoth score of 505 in their first innings and went on to win the Test match. However, it was McCullum's quickfire century that remained the highlight of the match, capping off an illustrious career in which he played the game on his own terms.
