Cricket Viral Video: During the initial One Day International (ODI) against England at Kennington Oval in July 2022, Jasprit Bumrah delivered a remarkable bowling performance. He proved to be highly effective with the new ball, securing four wickets in the powerplay overs, with three of those resulting in ducks. The Indian team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, won the coin toss and chose to field first, aiming to capitalise on the prevailing overcast weather conditions. Bumrah and his fellow bowler, Mohammed Shami, lived up to the captain’s anticipations, showing an impressive performance on the field.

Bumrah leads the bowling attack

Showing an impressive display of fast bowling, the then 28-year-old bowler achieved his first six-wicket success in ODIs. He took apart England’s batting lineup, restricting them to only 110 runs. He also made history by becoming the first Indian fast bowler to take six wickets in ODIs in England. This was also the best bowling performance by an Indian bowler against England, which was a big accomplishment in his career.

From the very beginning, Bumrah showed his powerful skills. In his first over, he quickly dismissed the struggling Jason Roy without giving away any runs. Even the usually reliable Test cricket scorer, Joe Root, couldn’t continue his success in ODIs. He faced a similar outcome, getting out for zero to Bumrah in the same over. The key English batsman was surprised by a short delivery and accidentally edged it to Rishabh Pant, who was the wicketkeeper.

Bumrah’s impressive run didn’t end there, as he took another wicket in his second over, sending Jonny Bairstow back to the pavilion with only seven runs to his name. However, the standout moment of his performance was when he got rid of Liam Livingstone, which was unquestionably the best dismissal of the match.

Bumrah’s outstanding achievement of 6/19 stands as the third-best performance by an Indian bowler in ODIs. The highest position is held by Stuart Binny, who recorded figures of 6/4 against Bangladesh, while the second spot is occupied by the legendary Anil Kumble, who took 6/12 against West Indies.
