Cricket Viral Video: Sledging and Sachin Tendulkar don't typically go together, and this was one of the very, very few times the "God of Cricket" sledged his opponents. It was the second edition of the Champions Trophy, which was then known as the Knock Out Trophy, in the year 2000. India was slated to face Australia in the tournament's first quarterfinal after playing outstanding cricket throughout the group round.
In the fourth over, the "Master Blaster" accelerated as he sped down the track and crushed Glenn McCgrath for a big six back over McCgrath's head. In the next delivery, he made a second identical shot that resulted in a four. When the Master suddenly attacked, McCgrath was left confused.
His subsequent attack against Brett Lee was another of his signature shots, and Tendulkar performed a great off-drive to perfection. Before Brett Lee had him out in the same over by eliciting a fake shot from his blade, he had sprinted off to run a ball 38 and appeared to be in grave shape. He attempted a wide-ranging swipe but only managed to provide the slip fielder with a straightforward catch.
Tendulkar sledged back at his opponents, maybe for the very first time. The Australians are frequently quite chatty on the field and have the habit of irritating their opponents. They were unable to sledge Sachin, though, unlike other players. The Master, however, answered him back with both his lips and the bat.
"F**k Y*u*" was used as a foul word in his response to McCgrath's slur, and McCgrath held up his ears as if he hadn't heard it. It wasn't a common sight, but it was undeniably a time when Tendulkar gave the Australians a taste of their own medicine.
India scored a respectable total of 265 in their allocated 20 overs thanks to a Tendulkar special up front and a fantastic effort from rookie Yuvraj Singh. The Indian bowlers were outstanding up front and bowled in the advantageous spots to benefit. The strong Australians were ultimately unable to score more than 245, gifting India a decisive victory by 20 runs. Despite centuries from Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, they were unable to defeat the Kiwis in the final. They went on to defeat South Africa in the semifinal.
