In the second match of the tournament, India, with the help of Yuvraj Singh’s innings, posted a target of 261 runs against Sri Lanka. It was during this game that Kohli’s trousers incident occurred.

In the second inning, while fielding in the 48th over, Thilan Samaraweera struck a boundary. Virat Kohli, positioned in that area, made a valiant effort to prevent the boundary but was unsuccessful. During his dive, his trousers slipped off, leaving him in just his underwear.
