Cricket Viral Video: At Edgbaston stadium in Birmingham on July 2nd last year, Jasprit Bumrah, representing India against England, accomplished a remarkable feat. Batting as a lower-order player, Bumrah established a world record by scoring the highest number of runs in a single over in Test cricket. Stuart Broad, England's premier fast bowler, bore the brunt of Bumrah's exceptional batting skills, conceding an astounding 35 runs during that over.
Jasprit Bumrah turns into fearsome batter
Among the 35 runs amassed in that over, Jasprit Bumrah demonstrated his batting skills by scoring 29 runs with his own bat, while the remaining six runs were extras. It's noteworthy that the previous record for the highest runs scored in a Test cricket over was held by West Indies cricket legend Brian Lara. He had accomplished this feat in 2003, scoring 28 runs off an over bowled by South African spinner Robin Pieterson.
In the first delivery bowled by Stuart Broad, Bumrah managed to collect four runs with his bat. However, the second ball drifted wide, contributing five additional runs to India's score. The subsequent delivery was a no-ball, providing Bumrah with the opportunity to hit a six. Following that, Bumrah demonstrated his batting prowess by sending the next three deliveries to the boundary, each resulting in four runs. On the fifth delivery, he struck another six, amassing an impressive 29 runs with his exceptional batting skills. Finally, on the last ball of the over, Bumrah secured a single run, concluding an extraordinary and record-breaking over.

Bumrah's feat of surpassing Lara's record was unexpected, given that he was not known for his aggressive batting prowess. With a previous highest score of just 34 runs and a Test cricket average of merely 6.21, Bumrah is not typically regarded as a powerful hitter in the sport.
