1. Hilarious moment with Rishabh Pant
In the Gabba Test match of India’s 2020/21 tour of Australia, a delivery from T Natarajan eluded Tim Paine’s bat in Australia’s first innings. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant swiftly collected the ball and appealed for a caught behind. Interestingly, none of the Indian players, except Pant, showed interest in the appeal. Undeterred, Pant continued to appeal for a few moments, even glancing at captain Ajinkya Rahane as if considering a DRS review. However, Rahane was well aware that there was no edge.
Even Rohit Sharma, positioned in the slip cordon, couldn’t contain his laughter as he witnessed Pant’s enthusiastic but futile appeals. The comical incident provided a lighthearted moment during the intense Test match, leaving the players and fans amused.

2. Rohit Sharma playfully teases a cameraman for featuring him on the big screen.
During the first innings of the WTC Final 2023, Team India opted for a DRS while Australia was batting. However, instead of displaying the replay, the broadcast crew inadvertently showcased Rohit Sharma’s face on the big screen. Irritated by the mix-up, Sharma expressed his frustration to the cameraman, urging them to show the review instead of his face. He straightforwardly told the cameraman, “Abe mujhe kya dikha raha hai, screen pe replay dikha na.” (Why are you showing me? Show the replay on the screen.)
3. Rohit Sharma refers Steve Smith as ‘a little crazy.’
During the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia, Rohit Sharma led India and showcased his batting brilliance in the first Test at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, scoring a century in the first innings.
In the 77th over of the innings, when Ravindra Jadeja tried to convert a single into a double, Marnus Labuschagne was bowling. Jadeja hit the ball towards the fine leg region, where Steve Smith was fielding. However, Sharma declined the second run, and on the stump mic, he humorously remarked, “Yeh pagal hai thoda, sach me” (He’s a little crazy, for real).
