Cricket Viral Video: On September 9, 1994, Sachin Tendulkar, the record-holder for numerous batting achievements, notched his first ODI century, achieving this milestone nearly five years into his international cricket career.
Despite becoming synonymous with centuries during his illustrious career, Sachin Tendulkar remarkably played 77 ODIs without reaching a century. However, the Master Blaster chose the perfect occasion to end this streak, delivering a magnificent century during the second game of a quadrangular series that included Sri Lanka, Australia, and Pakistan as the hosts.
At Colombo's Premadasa Stadium, the then 21-year-old Sachin Tendulkar faced off against the legendary pacer Glenn McGrath, scoring an impressive 41 runs off McGrath's six overs. This match also marked one of his early encounters with the late Shane Warne, a rivalry that would define the 1990s.
Having won the toss and opted to bat on a challenging pitch, Tendulkar reached his century in 119 deliveries, ultimately scoring 110 runs from 130 balls. His remarkable innings, comprising eight boundaries and two sixes, propelled India to a competitive total of 246/8 in their allotted 50 overs.
