Cricket Viral Video: Cricket legends Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar, adored by fans worldwide, have rewritten batting records. While Tendulkar showed humility and sportsmanship, Ponting's Australian aggression occasionally crossed the line. One such instance occurred in the year 2006, when Ponting even got into an altercation with umpire for Sachin's wicket.

Ponting charges upon the umpire

During the DLF Cup in Malaysia in 2006, an incident occurred involving Ponting, Tendulkar, and the on-field umpire. Australia set a below-par total of 213 in 48 overs while batting first. Despite the Indians' previous batting failures in the series, the match was anticipated to be a closely contested one, with Tendulkar being the key hope for the team.

In the early stages of the Indian innings, Tendulkar faced a delivery from McGrath at a speed of 126.8km/hr. The ball struck him on the back of his shoulder and was caught by wicketkeeper Brad Haddin. The Australian slip cordon and McGrath appealed for the dismissal, and umpire Mark Benson ruled Tendulkar out. Initially stunned, the Indian opener stood for a brief moment, shaking his head in disbelief, before reluctantly making his way back to the pavilion.

Moments later, the umpires reversed their decision and called Sachin Tendulkar back to the crease, even though he had only taken a few steps away. Umpire Benson acknowledged his mistake, providing Tendulkar with a lifeline. This infuriated Ricky Ponting, who stormed towards Benson in a fit of anger. Ponting expressed his disagreement with the umpire's reversal, but his protests fell on deaf ears. Eventually, Ponting's teammates managed to calm him down. The Australian captain also exchanged words with Sachin, who responded with a gentle smile.
