Cricket Viral Video: A cricket team once found itself in a scenario where they needed five runs on the game’s final ball to win, which is a highly unusual occurrence. Surprisingly, they managed to score those runs without ever hitting the ball over the boundary. The bowler produced a well-delivered ball in the final over of a domestic game, and it was caught by a fielder at mid-off. Normally, this move would have produced one or even two runs because the fielder might have returned the ball to the bowler or wicketkeeper. Contrary to expectations, the fielder decided to run towards the wickets at the non-striker’s end and hit them, allowing for the required number of runs to be scored.
Fielding Error Allows Batsman to Secure Game-Winning Runs
The fielder quickly moved to the other side in an effort to perform a run-out but the batter had already safely achieved their place within the crease. Sadly, this effort was ineffective since the fielder entirely missed the stumps, which allowed the ball to continue travelling away from the wickets. The batsman took advantage of the opportunity presented by this error to score two more runs, bringing his total to five and giving his team the victory.
