Cricket Viral Video: Anil Kumble is renowned for his illustrious career with the ball and holds the record for India's most test wickets. However, he once crushed England in a game after shocking everyone by getting a century. Anil Kumble, a former Indian captain and leg bowler, achieved his lone century for his nation against England at The Oval in August 2007. In the three-match Test series, India defeated England 1-0 thanks to that historic innings.

Anil Kumble notches off maiden century

Kumble made the decision to retire from the one-day international (ODI) format of cricket on March 30 after returning to India following a disastrous World Cup in which the team failed to advance past the Super 8. Kumble made his first Test century on August 10 of the same year, scoring an unbroken 110 against England at the Oval to help his team end with 664.

He overtook Chaminda Vaas, who had previously held the record with 96 Tests, by requiring 118 Tests to register his first Test century, setting a new record for the most matches required to get a century. Additionally, it was the lone hundred scored by an Indian during the three-Test series, therefore ensuring India's triumph against England.

Kumble is the fourth-highest all-time wicket-taker in Test cricket with 619 wickets. He managed to dismiss all 10 batsmen in a Test match innings against Pakistan in 1999, which was one of his most amazing achievements.

In 2005, Kumble received the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour in India. He announced his retirement from international cricket in November 2008 after 18 years of competition. Kumble was chosen to lead the ICC cricket committee in October 2012.
