SA20 2023: To cap off his team’s outstanding bowling effort against a formidable Sunrisers Eastern Cape squad, Joburg Super Kings skipper Faf du Plessis made a superb catch. Gerald Coetzee delivered a decent length ball at Roelof van der Merwe after getting Aiden Markram’s team down to 126-8, but van der Merwe mishit the ball into long-off.
Faf du Plessis takes a magnificent catch
Faf du Plessis, who was positioned at the edge of the circle, kept his eyes on the ball while making a spectacular diving catch from behind. Du Plessis was back in action shortly after, taking another catch to remove James Fuller from the situation.
Recalling their outstanding bowling effort, the Joburg Super Kings bowled out the Sunrisers for 127 in 18.4 overs, ending Du Plessis’ team’s innings. Veteran Proteas spinner Aaron Phangiso was the inning’s standout performance. The Birthday Boy took four wickets while only giving up 20 runs to get the best stats in the SA20.
Following the dismissal of Tristan Stubbs with another magnificent delivery, Phangiso took opener Adam Rossington as his second wicket. The 39-year-old then dismissed Marco Jansen, an all-rounder who has been in good form.

Donavon Ferreira, the wicketkeeper, was in all four dismissals while assisting the left-arm orthodox bowler. Ferreira had a field day as he also intercepted the bowling of Romario Shepard and caught Eastern Cape skipper Aiden Markram. Gerald Coetzee finished his four-wicket haul and contributed significantly to the Sunrisers’ lower order being cleaned out, along with Aaron Phangiso.
