Australia defeated Sri Lanka and New Zealand easily, securing their place in the semi-final against India. Steve Waugh and Matthew Hayden, who at the time batted at number 6, contributed 52 and 48 runs respectively, helping Australia to a total of 244-9. India lost Sachin Tendulkar early on, but Ajay Jadeja and Navjot Sidhu kept the team in the game with 87 and 80 runs respectively.

When Warne took the field, he was still fresh off his Ball of the Century performance. He was outstanding, dismissing both Jadeja and Sidhu until he faced Kambli for the first time. Kambli, batting with a cap, hit Warne for a straight six on the first ball. The second ball, which was a high full toss, was signalled a no-ball.

The moment is still alive and etched into the hearts of the Indian cricket team fans.
