Cricket Viral Video: Former India skipper Virat Kohli is renowned for his batting skills and is often called as GOAT of cricket. Over the years, he has broken several batting records with an utmost ease. However, there’s one interesting balling record that is unheard of and many of his fans are not even aware of. He is, actually, the only bowler who has taken a wicket of his first ever legal ball.

Virat Kohli picks a unique wicket

During a T20I match on August 31, 2011, Virat Kohli achieved a unique record as a bowler. Playing under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, Kohli bowled three overs and took one wicket for 22 runs. He was given the ball to bowl the eighth over of the innings.

Kohli’s first ball was directed towards Kevin Pietersen, who was at the crease. The ball went outside the leg stump and Pietersen stepped out of the crease to play it. Dhoni, who was keeping behind the stumps, quickly collected the ball and removed the bails, resulting in Pietersen being out stumped. However, the umpire called it a wide ball since it went outside the leg stump.
