Cricket Viral Video: During the 2013/14 Test match in Wellington, an intriguing scene unfolded as MS Dhoni took up the bowling duties while Virat Kohli assumed the wicketkeeping role. The match marked the second Test of a two-match series, with New Zealand leading 1-0. In this particular Test, the Indian team showcased their dominance by dismissing the New Zealand side for 192 runs and amassing a substantial total of 438 runs. By the third morning, they had already made significant progress, reducing the hosts to a score of 94-5.

Dhoni takes the unusual stage

During that crucial stage of the match, MS Dhoni, in his final year as Test captain, would have held high hopes of securing a victory. However, his optimism was dampened as New Zealand's captain, Brendon McCullum, and wicketkeeper BJ Watling showcased remarkable resilience, frustrating the Indian bowlers throughout the remaining day and well into the following day.

When New Zealand's score reached 440-5, Dhoni made the bold decision to take up the ball himself. Tea was called for after the completion of the 158th over of the innings. When play resumed, Dhoni took charge of the bowling duties, despite the new ball being just two overs away. Kohli, in turn, assumed the role of the wicketkeeper. During Dhoni's over, Watling managed to score four runs out of the five delivered. Having completed five overs, Dhoni and Kohli switched positions. Subsequently, Dhoni opted for the new ball and reintroduced Mohammed Shami and Zaheer Khan into the attack. This marked Dhoni's final bowling spell in international cricket.

This was not the first time Dhoni had bowled in Test cricket, as he had famously bowled 10 overs across innings at Lord's in 2011 when Zaheer Khan had to leave the field due to injury. Dhoni faced criticism from Kapil Dev for his choice to bowl himself, with Dev accusing him of "mocking Test cricket." It was just under two months prior to the Wellington Test that Dhoni and AB de Villiers had created history by becoming the first pair of wicketkeepers to bowl in a Test match. During that particular match, Virat Kohli had taken up the wicketkeeping duties.
