WTC Final 2023: South African cricket star AB de Villiers finds it incredibly challenging to choose a favourite for the World Test Championship (WTC) final. Nonetheless, he has predicted that India will emerge victorious against Australia on the final day. The crucial match to determine the champion is set to commence on Wednesday, June 7 at The Oval in London, featuring teams captained by Rohit Sharma and Pat Cummins. Australia, appearing in their maiden final, will take on India, who secured the second spot in the inaugural tournament.

What did AB Devilliers say on WTC Final 2023?
In a conversation with JioCinema, AB stated, “Very difficult to say who are the favourites. Both teams have not been playing a lot of Test cricket of late but what I can say is that India in their last Test match at the Oval have got a win against this very strong England team. They will be taking a bit of confidence from that.”
Continuing further, he stated, “I think India will come out on top on day five of the Test match. I think it might go all the way. It’s a good wicket to bat on but I think the Indian spinners will come into play in the latter stages of the Test match.”
After their previous four-match series earlier this year, both Australia and India have been away from Test cricket. The Australian team is heading into the final with limited competitive match practice, while the Indian players have been actively involved either in the IPL or county cricket, ensuring they are in match-ready form.

Speaking about the batting, AB Devilliers said “I am just going to mention one and someone who has always been fired up with all these kinds of series, especially in the UK and Australia. Everywhere he has travelled, he wants to prove a point – it’s Virat Kohli. It’s great to see him enjoy the game of cricket and I can’t wait to see him do well in the UK again.” India’s players have been gearing up for the much-anticipated World Test Championship final, set to commence on June 7.
