CSK vs RR IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai by 32 Runs in High-Scoring Thriller, Win Back-to-Back matches against CSK

CSK vs RR IPL 2023: In the 37th match of IPL 2023, Rajasthan Royals has defeated Chennai Super Kings by a margin of 32 runs. The match took place at the home ground of RR i.e. Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. It was a high-scoring affair as Sanju Samson won the toss and his time reached their highest score in home ground by scoring 202/5 in 20 overs. In response, CSK did not have an ideal start and dealt with breakthroughs in between and could score 170/6 in 20 overs, as they fell short by 32 runs. This is their back-to-back victory against CSK this season, defeating them first by 3 runs on 12th April at Chepauk. They have also become table-toppers of the season now.

CSK batters tumble in tall chase

Coming to chase a high total of 203 runs, CSK did not have an ideal start as they lost star opener Devon Conway cheaply. He scored just 8 runs off 16 balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad stabilised the innings with an impressive and crucial 47 off 29 balls. Ajinkya Rahane couldn’t continue his golden touch and scored 15 off 13 balls.

Impact player Ambati Rayudu was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Ashwin. Moeen Ali played a small cameo of 23 runs off 12 balls. Shivam Dube played a valiant knock of 52 off 33 balls, hitting two boundaries and four maximums, but failed to take his team across the boundary line. Adam Zampa grabbed a three-wicket haul while R Ashwin took two wickets while Kuldip Yadav also picked a wicket.

Rajasthan’s Royal batting total

Earlier, Sanju Samson led Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bat first. His decision proved to be a significant one as they posted a massive 202/5 in 20 overs, their highest ever at the ground. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal played a brilliant inning, scoring 77 runs off 43 balls, hitting 8 boundaries and four maximums.

Jos Buttler scored 27 off 21, Skipper Sanju Samson scored 17 off 17, while Hetmyer scored 8 off 10 balls. However, Dhruv Jurel played a brilliant cameo at the end and scored 34 runs off 15 balls, hitting 3 boundaries and 2 maximums. Padikkal scored 27 off 13 balls. Tushar Deshpande grabbed a couple of wickets while Theekshana and Jadeja also picked a wicket each.
