Cummins confident for bouncy pitches against India in ODIs

Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins expects pitches to bounce and accelerate in the limited-overs series and Test series against India, which will give Australia the advantage of playing at home.

“Hopefully the pitches will be the way we Australian players are used to,” Cricket.com.com reported quoting Cummins on Monday.

Cummins said, “Hopefully there will be a boom and bounce in the pitch so that, like India, we also get the benefit of playing at home.”

Cummins, who was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said that it would be beneficial for him to stay in the BioSecure bubble before the crucial series against India.

Cummins said, ‘One advantage of staying in the bio bubble in the UAE was that we didn’t have to travel much. In the normal situation that happens in the IPL, we have to catch the flight every other day. So it gets very tiring at times. ‘

Cummins said that he is feeling relieved after spending three months in the bio bubble. He, however, also said that once he joins the Australian team, he will discuss whether he should rest in the limited-overs series in Sydney and Canberra before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
