DC vs SRH IPL 2023: In the 40th match of IPL 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad has defeated Delhi Capitals by a margin of 9 runs. Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bat first at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. SRH bat first in the game and scored 197/7 in 20 overs. In response, DC’s wickets fell at regular intervals and they could muster 188/6 in 20 overs and fell short by 9 runs.
DC batters fall flat in chase
Coming to chase a high-scoring total of 198, skipper & opener David Warner was dismissed for a two-ball duck which gave his team a severe setback in the first over itself. Opener Philip Salt played a crucial knock of 59 in 35 balls. Mitchell Marsh played a valiant knock of 63 in 39 balls, hitting a boundary & six maximums.
Manish Pandey scored 1, Priyam Garg scored 12 off 9, and Sarfaraz scored 9. Axar Patel scored 29* off 14 balls but failed to take his team across the line. Mayank Markande picked a couple of wickets while Bhuvneswar Kumar, Akeal Hosein, T Natarajan, and Abhishek Sharma picked a wicket each.
SRH batters post huge total
Earlier, SRH won the toss and chose to bat first in the match. Opener Abhishek Sharma played a remarkable and crucial inning of 67 in 36 balls while wickets kept falling from one end. Mayank scored 5, Tripathi scored 10, skipper Markram scored 8, while Harry Brook was dismissed for a two-ball duck.
However, Klaasen then rose up to the situation and played a valiant knock of 53 in 27 balls. Abdul Samad scored 28 off 21 balls, while Akeal Hosein scored 16 off 10. With their commendable knocks, the team managed to post 197 runs on board. Mitchell Marsh picked up a four-wicket haul while Axar & Ishant picked a wicket each.
