ENG vs PAK: Joe Root shows cleverness, uses THIS instead of saliva to shine the ball | Watch video

ENG vs PAK

ENG vs PAK: In the first Test of the series against Pakistan, England put on an exhilarating batting performance, reaching 657 in the first innings with four players hitting hundreds. With Pakistan’s openers Abdullah Shafique (114) and Imam-ul-Haq (121) putting up a 225-run stand for the first wicket, the hosts are also putting up a strong response.

Joe Root’s ingenious move spark hilarious responses

On Day 3 of the Test in Rawalpindi, Pakistan kept up their strong batting display while England tried an amusing strategy in an effort to make breakthroughs. The International Cricket Council had earlier this year announced a permanent ban on the use of saliva over the ball, but Root’s unconventional strategy went viral on social media. The commentators were left in splits by his “ingenious” move.

Former England captain Joe Root was observed shining the ball on one side in preparation for a reverse swing. Immediately following the finish of the over, Root was spotted shining the red ball from one side on Jack Leach’s head in order to keep it gleaming.

England shatters massive records on first day

At the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, England chose to bat after winning the toss earlier. England set a new record by scoring 506 runs on the first day of the Test at Rawalpindi. The pitch quality would not improve until the following season, according to Ramiz, who called the surface “embarrassing.”

Particularly since Ramiz took over as PCB chief last year, the pitch quality has come under scrutiny. He stated he would introduce drop-in pitches to Pakistan. Despite all the discussions, however, there has been no progress on this issue, and Ramiz has criticised the high costs of shipping them from other countries as being a barrier.
