India has officially kicked off its preparation for the Commonwealth Games 2030 through the handing over of the Commonwealth Games Federation flag and ceremonial baton from Glasgow as part of the closing ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. The handing over ceremony symbolizes the beginning of India’s preparation to host the next Games to be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Present at the handing over ceremony were officials of the Commonwealth Games Federation and delegates from Glasgow and India.

The handing over of the flag and baton goes beyond just being a ceremony but signifies India’s resolve to organize one of the biggest sporting events in the Commonwealth. Ahmedabad prepares for international exposure
