Gavaskar says Mayank, Kuldeep has to wait for their chance in Indian Test side

The Indian cricket team showed a strong game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the third match of the four-match Test series against England. In this match played in Ahmedabad, India defeated England in just two days and got an unassailable 2-1 lead in the series.

Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar believes that no change is expected in the Indian team at the moment and in such a situation, Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav and Mayank Agarwal will have to wait for their turn.

“His new stance is giving him less options on the backfoot, something that he cannot do on Australian pitches,” Gavaskar said.

“It can help him cover for that movement inside from the left-arm pacer.”

“It happened to me once too and it needs to be worked on. He can probably bring his wrists closer so that he can get to the ball quicker.”

Talking about the pitch, Gavaskar said, ‘I do not think that the pitch of the fourth match is going to be very different from what we have seen in the third Test. If there is too much rolling or if too much water has been given at the same time, then it may help to turn the ball a little more.

In the third Test match played against England, Washington Sundar could not get much bowling opportunity. During the first innings, he didn’t even to bat much neither to ball. Gavaskar believes that if a change which could take place then it should be Kuldeep Yadav for Washington Sundar.
