Lionel Messi: Choosing one player between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is really difficult. After all, both of them have done uncountable things for the footballing world and their contribution to this sport is unmatched.
The footballing world really gets divided into two categories when talking about Ronaldo and Messi. Everyone has their own opinion and according to that picks who their favorite is and who is the greatest.
Germany and Bayern Munich forward Thomas Mueller is not different. Just like everyone else he also picks one of these two to be the best ever. Mueller not only picked his favorite but also gave a detailed reason for it.
Lionel Messi Is The Greatest
According to Mueller, Lionel Messi is the greatest player ever. In an interview with DAZN, the World Cup 2010 winner picked Messi as the best player to ever put up the boots and gave a very solid reason for it.
He said that people go to the stadium and just get awestruck by Messi’s elegance yet being effective at the same time. He further stated the Argentine is a brilliant goalscorer and has won multiple awards because of that.
Cristiano is also a strong candidate in two categories which are stats and titles, but Messi is simply more subtle and elegant.” Mueller finished his reasoning like this.
Change In Opinion
This statement coming from Mueller might be a shock as he had a different opinion in March. He previously stated that Ronaldo has caused a lot of trouble for Bayern in the Champions League.
On the other hand, things are always easy with Messi. But the situation changed after Messi’s World Cup triumph and many people and pundits changed their opinion on who the greatest is.
