GG vs MI WPL 2023: Tanuja Kanwar takes FIRST wicket of the tournament, dismisses Mumbai Indians' batter for just one run, watch

GG vs MI WPL 2023:The opening match of the Women's Premier League between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians (GG vs MI) is currently underway at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. MI won the toss and has opt to bat first. However, their first wicket fell in the third over itself and Tanjua Kanwar became the first bowler to pick a wicket in the tournament.

Tanuja Kanwar scalps first wicket

In the third over of the innings, the left-arm off-spinner claimed the first wicket of the tournament by dismissing Mumbai Indians' Yastika Bhatia for just one run. Attempting a square drive of a good length delivery, Bhatia ended up slicing the ball into the air. Georgia Wareham, fielding at point, made a move to her left to complete the catch and secure the first wicket of the season. B

Before her dismissal, Bhatia struggled to gain momentum, scoring only one run in seven deliveries. The team's scorecard read 15 runs for one wicket with Nat Sciver-Brunt replacing Bhatia to partner with Hayley Matthews.
