Hardik Pandya was recently appointed as T20I captain

The top all-rounder was selected captain of the T20 squad on December 27, 2022, in preparation for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, which would start on January 3. When 35-year-old Rohit Sharma decides to quit his outstanding international career, the current management plans to deploy the 27-year-old Baroda player as the long-term white ball skipper. Furthermore, he was chosen to serve as the ODI team’s vice-captain.

It is realistic to assume that the shortest format will now primarily consist of IPL players and newbies despite the fact that Rohit, who is recovering from a thumb injury, was selected captain of the ODI series that would follow the T20Is.
