Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya: In the post-game presentation, India’s captain Hardik Pandya criticised the West Indies cricket body (Windies Cricket), stating that the hosts need to improve. Pandya, who hit a match-winning knock of 70 off 52 deliveries at the post-game presentation, conveyed his disappointment with the arrangements provided by the hosts.

India trounced the hosts by 200 runs on Tuesday to thrash them and win the series. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, the Indian squad put up a strong overall performance. Shai Hope, the skipper of the West Indies, asked India to bat first, and they scored a massive 351 runs. In response, Windies team was bundled out for 151 runs.

What did Hardik Pandya say?

While praising the Brian Lara Cricket Academy as one of the best Caribbean venues he has played on, he emphasised that the board needs to take attention to a few things. He did, however, make it clear that he was talking to certain basic needs instead of luxury.

Hardik stated, “This was the nicest grounds we have played. Things can be better when we come to West Indies next time. From travelling to managing a lot of things. Last year also, some hiccups happened. I think it’s time for West Indies Cricket to take note of it and make sure that when a team travels…. We don’t ask for luxury but we need some basic necessities taken care of.”

India’s victory over West Indies in this format was the second-largest ever for them. But throughout the series, Hardik expressed his dissatisfaction with the travel arrangements. According to prior reports, certain players had expressed concerns to the BCCI over flight delays.

India dominates Windies

Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, the opening batsmen, took charge right from the start, putting on an impressive partnership of 143 runs within the first 20 overs. Gill played steadily, scoring 85 runs off 92 balls, while Kishan showcased some fast-paced batting, contributing 77 runs off just 64 balls. Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya played pivotal roles as well, with Samson completing a half-century, and Pandya’s aggressive 70 off 52 balls provided a strong finish to the innings.

On the other side, West Indies struggled and could only muster 151 runs in response. Mukesh Kumar, the Indian pacer, was the standout performer with the ball, causing disruptions in the top order and finishing with an impressive 3/30 in seven overs. Shardul Thakur also played a significant role, taking four wickets and conceding only 37 runs in 6.3 overs. Kuldeep Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat also made valuable contributions by taking wickets, ensuring India’s comprehensive victory.
