ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Pakistan is in all sorts of trouble as they got knocked out of the Asia Cup 2023 by Sri Lanka. One of the main reasons that Pakistan got knocked out was because of injury to their pace duo.

Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf got injured against India in the Super 4 round match. Both of the bowlers were brought back as precautions. It looked like minor injuries and the team did not want to take any risks.

But now it looks like that Naseem Shah’s injury was more severe than everyone thought initially. The right-arm pacer is recovering well, but it looks like he will miss the first match of Pakistan in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

Pakistan In Trouble

Naseem Shah was in discomfort twice in the Asia Cup 2023. The first was in the match against Nepal where he had a shock to his right shoulder. Then it was against India in the Super 4 round match.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam revealed the uncertainty regarding the young pacer. “Naseem Shah has a couple of missed matches. I don’t know how long the recovery will be, but in my opinion, Naseem Shah will be in the World Cup later on. But let’s see.

Indicating that the pacer will miss a few matches. Later confirmation came that Naseem would miss the first match against the Netherlands.

Haris Rauf Fit For ICC ODI World Cup 2023

Haris Rauf suffered a minor strain in the back and he will be back to full fitness very soon. The Pakistan board is confident that the rapid right arm pacer will be back in time.

“I’ll tell you later, not telling you our Plan B now. But, yes, Haris Rauf is not bad. He’s just got a little bit of a side strain, but he’s recovering before the World Cup.” Babar Azam stated.
