ICC re-introduces Champions Trophy, increases number of teams in Men’s 50, 20 over World Cup

ICC confirmed on Monday, the kick-off start of this league will begin on July 30.

The International Cricket Council has re-introduced the men’s Champions Trophy and increased the number of teams competing in both men’s 50 over World Cup and T20 World Cup for the Cycle of 2024-2031.

The 50 over extravaganza will now have 14-teams in total and will be an event of 54 games in 2027 and 2031, while the men’s T20 World Cup will be a 20-team long tournament with 55 games in 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030.

Apart from this an eight-team Champions Trophy will be played in 2025 and 2029.
