IND vs AUS: How Shubman Gill Can Become Number 1 ODI Batsmen Before ICC ODI World Cup 2023; Find Out Here

The crowned Prince of Indian cricket will have the chance to get his well deserved throne before the start of the World Cup 2023. Considering the form he is in, the task might not be impossible.

IND vs AUS: The Prince of the Indian cricket team is in fine form at the moment. It won’t be wrong to say that he is the most in-form batsman of the Indian team right now and no one even comes close.

He had a wonderful Asia Cup 2023 and was the highest scorer of the tournament. It also helped him achieve his career-best ICC Ranking as he is now the second-best ODI batsman in the world.

His rise in 2023 has been phenomenal so far and right now he is the only batsman to score 1000 runs this year. This performance has also resulted in him rising up to second in the rankings and he can get first before the start of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as well.

The Race To The Top

With Mohammed Siraj at the top, India has the chance to go into the World Cup with both the No.1 bowler and batsman. India went into the 2019 ODI World Cup with both number 1 batsman and bowler.

Right now, Shubman Gill is just 41 points behind Babar Azam who is at number 1 position. Babar won’t play any cricket before the World Cup now, while Shubman will be playing three ODIs in the IND vs AUS series.

The gap between Babar Azam & Shubman Gill has reduced to 41 in the ICC ODI batters ranking. And Gill has a great chance to become number 1 through Australia ODIs and he only needs 200 runs in this series to achieve that feat.

IND vs AUS: Perfect Test Ground

It is not only a great opportunity but a perfect test for Gill to showcase his talent to the world. Considering the form Gill is in and the first match will be in his home ground, Mohali, 200 runs in this series is not impossible.
