IND vs AUS: The India team for the first two Tests of the four-match series against Australia was announced by the BCCI on Friday. In addition to announcing the team for the next white-ball series against New Zealand, which will begin on January 18 before India hosts Australia in the longest format, is interesting. In addition to Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan receiving their first Test call-ups, Prithvi Shaw was recalled to the team for the New Zealand T20Is following his stellar performance with the bat in the domestic circuit.

Sarfaraz Khan continues stellar run in domestic cricket

Sarfaraz Khan was left over for the first two Australia Tests, and Suryakumar Yadav was chosen in his place, angering supporters on social media. He amassed 982 runs at a 122.75 average, including four centuries and two half-centuries, during the 2021–22 Ranji Trophy. He highest score was 275 in the tournament. In the meanwhile, he has amassed 431 runs with an average of 107.75, a strike rate of 70.54, two centuries, and one half-century in the current edition.

Suryakumar Yadav's stellar performance in white-ball forms, particularly T20I cricket, convinced the Indian cricket team selection committee to give him a shot in the country's Test squad. Fans, however, have not responded positively to it. This is how they responded to the choice.

Selecting Suryakumar Yadav ahead of Sarfaraz Khan in Tests is an insult to Ranji Trophy. That guy has been one of the most consistent run-getters in First Class cricket and deserved that call-up more than anyone.
