Fans tease Shubman Gill

Interestingly, Day 1 of the Test witnessed a hilarious incident when fans in the stands cheered for former skipper Virat Kohli and Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as the players took the field after one of the breaks. The atmosphere was calm until Shubman Gill encountered a group of fans. As Gill walked past them, the fans shouted, “Humari bhabhi kaisi ho, Sara bhabhi jaisi ho.” However, Gill didn’t let the comments get to him and simply smiled as he walked off to take the field.

This incident has happened with Shubman Gill in past as well, during a ODI match against New Zealand in January, when the crowd yelled the same phrase. The video from that match also went viral over the internet.

Regarding the ongoing match, Australia is currently in a commanding position with Usman Khawaja’s unbeaten 150. His impressive performance has been well-supported by Cameron Green who is also playing strongly with a score of 95 off 135 deliveries.

In the earlier stages of the match, stand-in skipper Steven Smith won the toss and chose to bat first. Ravichandran Ashwin drew the first blood by dismissing Travis Head in the first session of the opening day, while Mohammed Shami sent Marnus Labuschagne back to the pavilion. Later on, Ravindra Jadeja and Shami delivered more crucial blows, leading to Australia ending day 1 with a scoreboard reading 255/4.
