Umesh Yadav hits powerful sixes

Umesh Yadav, known for his powerful hitting, was faced by Nathan Lyon in the 30th over of the Indian innings. Umesh went for the slog-sweep and lofted Lyon’s delivery over the midwicket boundary for a huge six. The ball sailed away to the delight of the Indian supporters. Umesh’s outstanding hitting abilities were on display at that time, and the Indian squad was left in joy.

Off-spinner Todd Murphy took the ball in the very next over and was bowling to Yadav. Not one to back down, Yadav attempted another slog-sweep and successfully sent the ball flying over the backward square leg for another six. The Indian fans were ecstatic, rising to their feet in celebration, and even the normally composed Virat Kohli was seen dancing with joy.

Having done so, Umesh Yadav has surpassed the number of sixes hit by Yuvraj Singh and Ravi Shastri, taking his tally of sixes to 24 in red-ball cricket, two more than Yuvi and Shastri’s 22.

On a pitch that was favouring spinners, India found it difficult to score runs until Umesh Yadav stepped up with some much-needed big hits. His quick knock of 17 runs off only 13 balls proved to be crucial in helping India cross the 100-run mark. Unfortunately, his contribution was cut short as he was dismissed by Matthew Kuhnemann in the very next over.

Despite Yadav’s efforts, India’s innings ended with a total of just 109 runs, thanks to an exceptional bowling performance by the Australian spinners. Nonetheless, Yadav’s big hits brought some delight to Indian supporters, and Virat Kohli’s dance moves added an extra element of entertainment to the game.
