IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023

IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023: As the fourth day of the World Test Championship final dawned at The Oval, India was eager to secure early wickets. Their wish was granted when Marnus Labuschagne became a victim of Umesh Yadav’s skillful bowling. In a classic Test match scenario, Labuschagne edged the ball to the first slip as it moved away after pitching. Perhaps the previous delivery, which had unsettled Labuschagne and pinned him down, contributed to his uncertain footwork. However, it was the subsequent wicket that proved to be an extraordinary occurrence.

Jadeja leaves Green clueless

Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja disrupted the patient innings of tall all-rounder Cameron Green. Initially bowling around the wicket to the right-handed batsman, Jadeja decided to change his strategy and switched to bowling over the wicket. He specifically aimed at the rough patch outside Green’s leg stump to create difficulties for him.

Despite Green casually kicking away a couple of deliveries, Jadeja managed to land one in the rough, resulting in significant spin and bounce. The ball evaded Green’s pad and struck his glove before ricocheting onto the stumps. Undoubtedly, it was one of the more peculiar dismissals witnessed in the Test match thus far, presenting Jadeja with his third wicket of the innings. Green, although dismissed for a patient 25 off 95 balls, had fulfilled his role as the Australian team gave India a target of 444 runs.
