IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023: During the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final in 2023, Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav played a vital role in providing an early breakthrough on Day 4. His crucial contribution involved dismissing the top-ranked Test batsman in the world, Marnus Labuschagne. Pujara takes a sharp catch

In a pivotal moment after play resumed on Day 4 of the match, Indian bowler Yadav expertly induced a leading edge from Marnus Labuschagne, resulting in a valuable catch taken by Cheteshwar Pujara at first slip. This dismissal marked India’s fifth wicket during Australia’s second innings. The event unfolded during the 47th over of Australia’s inning, as Yadav skillfully targeted Labuschagne. Despite beginning the day’s play at a score of 41, Labuschagne failed to add any further runs to his tally.

Caught off guard by the unexpected bounce generated by the Indian fast bowler, the Australian batsman positioned at number 3 found himself unable to establish a solid connection with the ball. Consequently, he unintentionally offered a catch to Pujara. Notably, Pujara exhibited exceptional reflexes as he swiftly seized the ball, which approached him with considerable velocity, successfully completing the catch.

In the preceding stages, Australia demonstrated their batting prowess by amassing a total of 469 runs in the first innings, propelled by remarkable centuries from Travis Head and Steve Smith. In response, Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur played sensational innings, both securing centuries to aid India in accumulating a score of 296. However, Pat Cummins’ team managed to establish a substantial lead over India as Usman Khawaja and David Warner commenced their quest to further extend the advantage. By the end of Day 3, Australia reached a score of 123/4, consolidating their position in the match.
