IND vs BAN: Bangladesh player Mehidy Hasan tries to take Shreyas Iyer’s catch, ends up leaving ground with a bloodied nose

IND vs BAN: Mehidy Hasan Miraz, an all-rounder for Bangladesh, was involved in a bizarre accident during the second session of the current Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Mehidy attempted to make a blinding catch inside the circle but got caught up in a maze of problems. Shreyas Iyer struck hard at the fourth ball of the 44th over from fast bowler Taskin Ahmed’s delivery outside the off-stump.

But Shreyas was only able to achieve an outside edge. Mehidy attempted to take a catch by leaping into the air, and he nearly succeeded. He did not, however, grab the catch. The ball landed flat on his face, which made matters worse because a significant amount of blood was coming from his nose.

The physiotherapist arrived right away to check on Mehidy’s condition. Mehidy left the ground after that to get some medical attention. After winning Player of the Series in the three-match ODI series, Mehidy has played a crucial role in the Bangladesh team.

India’s shaky start in the innings

Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Cheteshwar Pujara were all quickly dismissed by Taijul Islam earlier in the day, giving him an early advantage over the Indian batting.

On Day 1, India was at Stumps with no losses, but they were unable to maintain the momentum into the first session of the following day. Virat Kohli succumbed shortly after as Taskin Ahmed claimed his first Test wicket. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer brought up their 50-run stand off 55 balls to steady the ship after Kohli was dismissed.
