IND vs NEP Asia Cup 2023: India is currently engaged in a thrilling contest against Nepal. Despite winning the toss and opting to bowl, India's on-field performance faced a shaky start with three easy catches dropped. However, Rohit Sharma soon took a stunner to dismiss Nepal's skipper Rohit Paudel.
India, despite a challenging powerplay marked by three dropped catches, managed to make a strong comeback by taking a flurry of wickets, putting Nepal on the defensive at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Monday. Shardul Thakur delivered the initial breakthrough, while Ravindra Jadeja's left-arm spin accounted for three quick wickets. An amusing incident highlighted Rohit Sharma's role in at least one of those dismissals, for which the all-rounder was grateful to his captain.
Ravindra Jadeja bowled a delivery slightly outside the line at a back of a length to opposition skipper Rohit Paudel. Paudel aimed to play the ball through the covers but ended up with a thick outside edge, sending the ball towards the slip cordon. Rohit Sharma, positioned at first slip, displayed quick reflexes as he knelt down to catch the ball by his thigh, sending Rohit Paudel back to the pavilion. The amusing part was Rohit Sharma's celebration.
