IND VS NZ ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Finally, India has done it. They have broken the 20-year-long curse of Kiwis and once again the chase master, the King, and the best player in the world, Virat Kohli was at the center of it.
The Men In Blues were unable to defeat the Kiwis in the World Cup for the past 20 years and who can forget the heartbreaking loss of 2019? The atmosphere coming into the match on Sunday was overwhelming and there was a lot of external pressure on the boys.
It looked like the pressure was getting to the team because of the sloppy fielding which resulted in Daryl Mitchell scoring a sensational century. But India made a sensational comeback and the rest is history only.
Sensational Shami
Amidst sloppy fielding and confusing times, Shami brought the Indian team back into the game. He took care of Will Young on his first ball of the World Cup. He also took care of Rachin Ravindra and centurion Daryl Mitchell.
But his two wickets in two deliveries in the 48th over were some beauty. Two perfect yorkers that left the batsman stranded on the pitch. They had no answer to the question that Shami was asking. It was top bowling.

Virat Kohli was once again wonderful and was the point of difference. While the Indian team never let the match go out of hand, there was one point where everyone got a little scared. But you are not allowed to be scared when Virat Kohli is on the pitch.
While Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started the innings on a positive note, Kohli and Shreyas Iyer took it forward. KL Rahul got dismissed for the first time in this tournament but Ravindra Jadeja came out and finished the game alongside Kohli.
