IND VS NZ ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Mohammad Shami’s Sensational Bowling Plunders New Zealand; Intense Chase Ahead; Watch

Mohammad Shami was in sensational form against New Zealand in his first match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. It was a statement to all the selectors who kept him out of the first four matches of the tournament.

IND VS NZ ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Mohammad Shami has made a sensational return to the Indian squad. It was his first match in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and he made a statement that can’t be ignored now.

Mohammed Siraj was picked ahead of Shami in the first four matches of the campaign. As Hardik Pandya got injured, the Indian team decided to give a chance to Shami and he took that chance amazingly well.

This is what everyone means when they say performed when given the chance. It would be hard to drop him in the next match. It will be a headache for the team management to select a playing XI in the next match now, but it is a good headache.

Sensational Shami

Amidst sloppy fielding and confusing times, Shami brought the Indian team back into the game. He took care of Will Young on his first ball of the World Cup. He also took care of Rachin Ravindra and centurion Daryl Mitchell.

But his two wickets in two deliveries in the 48th over were some beauty. Two perfect yorkers that left the batsman stranded on the pitch. They had no answer to the question that Shami was asking. It was top bowling.

Intense IND VS NZ ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Match Ahead

Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra came out to bat when New Zealand was in trouble. The pair put up a partnership of 159 runs together to get the Kiwis out of the slump. While Ravindra got out on 75, Mitchell went ahead and scored a century.

Mohammad Shami removed Mitchell in the last over on the individual score of 130. Both of them set up a respectable total and with the bowling lineup that Kiwi possesses, it will be an interesting match.
