MCC offered to host IND vs PAK test series

The much anticipated test match will likely be played, according to several cricket boards. Australia was the most recent country to be added to the list after Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) chief executive Stuart Fox contacted Cricket Australia (CA) regarding hosting the Test in Melbourne.

On day 4 of the second Test match between Australia and South Africa, MCC chief executive Stuart Fox reportedly indicated during an interview with SEN radio that the club and the Victoria government had contacted CA about hosting a neutral Test.

The last Test match between India and Pakistan’s bitter rivals was played a very long time ago. Since 2007, when bilateral cricket matches between the neighbours were banned, the two nations have not competed in the longest format of the sport.

India and Pakistan have not faced off in tests since 15 years

According to reports, after India and Pakistan’s memorable T20 World Cup 2022 encounter in October, the Melbourne Cricket Club and the Victorian government approached Cricket Australia (CA) informally about organising a Test match series between India and Pakistan in Melbourne.

Although India and Pakistan last faced off in a test match in 2007, they last competed in an international series in 2013.

Fox said that the MCC would be thrilled to welcome the two nations for a match of Test cricket after 90,293 spectators jammed the MCG last month to watch the thrilling final of the prized T20 world cup.
