On the occasion of Navratri, South African team spinner Keshav Maharaj paid obeisance at Padmanabha Swamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram. In the photo shared by Keshav Maharaj, he appeared in a traditional Indian costume (dhoti). In the caption accompanying the photo, he wrote that ‘Happy Navratri to all, Jai Mata Di’. South Africa’s team has come to India at this time. Where, they have to play three T20 and three ODI matches.

Keshav Maharaj worships Hindu gods and goddesses. He is considered a great devotee of Hanumanji. Keshav Maharaj’s ancestors belonged to Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. His father Atmanand Maharaj had told that his ancestors had migrated from Sultanpur to Durban around 1874. Atmanand has also been a cricketer. He was a wicketkeeper in domestic cricket.

Keshav Maharaj has played 45 test matches so far. He also took part in 24 ODIs and 18 T20 Internationals. Maharaj has taken 154 wickets in Test matches at an average of 30.61. Keshav Maharaj has 27 wickets in ODIs and 15 wickets in T20 Internationals.
