IND vs SL: On January 12, during the second One-Day International versus Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Mohammed Siraj struck a thunderous ball that gave Team India their maiden success in the match. After winning the toss, Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka chose to bat first. Before Siraj struck gold in the sixth over, Avishka Fernando started out with good hitting, striking a couple boundaries.
Siraj does his magic again
Siraj pitched an in-cutter right outside the off-stump, and Avishka attempted to drive through the offside. But the hitter for Sri Lanka inside-edged the ball onto his stumps. The Hyderabad-born bowler once again accomplished the task for his team, the Men in Blue, who were seeking for an early wicket.
Sri Lanka once again struggled to get going quickly as they were reduced to 29/1 in just six overs. Prior to entering the pavilion, Avishka scored 20 runs off of them. Now it will be up to Kusal Mendis and Nuwanidu Fernando to put their side in charge by putting together a significant partnership. Kusal will try to take advantage of this chance after being dismissed for a duck in the last game.

India was compelled to alter one member of their starting lineup from the previous match. Yuzvendra Chahal, a star leg-spinner, sustained an injury in the ODI against Guwahati and was unable to play.
Left-arm leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who has been in outstanding form, was included in the starting XI. However, Sri Lanka made two tweaks to their team. Dilshan Madushanka and Pathum Nissanka, who were both injured, were replaced by Lahiru Kumara and debutant Nuwanidu Fernando.
