IND vs SL: At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, Team India's batsman Suryakumar Yadav got out for seven runs in the first of the series' three T20Is against Sri Lanka (January 3). However, Yadav's timing was off as he tried his signature scoop shot.
After Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and chose to field first, India, captained by Hardik Pandya, was sent to bat. In the opening over, which resulted in 17 runs, Ishan Kishan gave the hosts a thrilling start by blasting a six and two fours.

Suryakumar Yadav dismissed on low score
Shubman Gill, who was playing in his first T20I, was bowled out LBW for seven runs as Sri Lanka fought back, according to Maheesh Theekshana. The hosts would have hoped that Suryakumar, who had a spectacular 2022, would get a massive knock. However, The right-hander was back in the dugout during the last over of the powerplay, so that scenario did not live up to what was expected from the star batter.
The pacer Chamika Karunaratne's first ball in the sixth over was attempted to be scooped by the 32-year-old. Outside off, the ball was roughly full. Suryakumar attempted to go beneath it, but the slowness defeated him. Bhanuka Rajapaksa made an easy catch when he chipped the ball to short fine leg early in his stroke.
